“Fashion says Me too, and style says only me”-Geraldine Stutz.

Anyone can buy “fashionable” or trendy clothes, but it’s about what you do with those clothes. Style is making it personal and adding your own personality to your wardrobe.Let’s talk about a few ways to add personality to your wardrobe, and take it from basic fashion to your own fun style.

Mixing prints Mixing prints is often approached with uncertainty because it can go really wrong or really right. Although that may be true, mixing prints is also the perfect way to let your creativity shine through. You have the ability to take different patterns and prints, style them together, and make a creative masterpiece. Wanna know how to master it? Follow these two tips. The first tip is to put together prints that share at least one common color. The second tip is to also make sure that the prints are the same size scale. (Mix big prints with big prints, small prints with small prints.)

Layering Layering is probably one of the easiest ways to recreate your look. It makes your outfit look effortless, not to mention it’s perfect for this season. Fall is often the most loved time of year for fashion lovers, and layering is what’s most commonly seen during this time. An example is layering a denim shirt over a flannel shirt, giving your look texture and adding an extra element.

Pops of color If your wardrobe is filled with mostly black clothes, start shopping for bright pieces. Adding pops of color to your wardrobe is so fun because it adds originality and personality. Instead of wearing an all black outfit, add a colorful bag, accessory, or shoe. Pair that red belt with your black and white dress.Rock that lime green shoe with that nude pantsuit!

Hard vs soft Another creative way to amplify your style is to play on the hard vs soft, edgy vs feminine aspects of your wardrobe. It’s especially perfect for those days when you want to channel your inner feminine, Kerry Washington yet also edgy, Zendaya vibe. Pairing a leather jacket with a slip dress, combat boots with a baby doll dress, sneakers with a skirt, are just a few examples.

There are endless possibilities when it comes to style. It’s all about having fun and being your own creative self. Don’t let your wardrobe be basic, own your style!
